The SB-600 is selling at $450 and SB-800 costs about $680 @ PC Show 2004, which one is better? I'm still using my 10 yrs old F-801s with non-Nikon flash, but I leave the camera in the dry box most of time...collecting dust  , just pick it up recently after 4 years  , so looking around a SB-28/28DX, SB-80/80DX or may be SB-600/800. Any idea or recommendation. Thanks in advance :)

frankly i would say juz buy wat u need.. if u dun need such a powerful flash for ur shoot dan dun get SB-800/600.. if it's juz normal shoot.. even an SB-80 would do juz as fine. so save ur $$ on other stuffs instead... money hard to earn ah..

DX.

Sb-80DX and SB-28 not in production...SB-28DX $428 CP....maybe you can consider SB600 incase you may upgrade to digital in future and can take advantage of the new i-TTL flash...anyway for both SB800 and 600, u can actually get it much cheaper at MS or LORDS....no point getting at the fair.. :D

(i got the SB800 n I LOVE IT!! )

$680 for the SB-800 is too expensive.

$680 too EX.. :nono: cp min can get $660.. n some shop even can get more cheaper..

CP has lowered, I think $650 and less is possible. Maybe tomorrow I don't do OT and I head for EXPO for a while.

SB-800 was on offer last time I checked (about 10 days ago) at Parisilk in Holland Village for $595+GST. I'm thinking of getting it myself soon so will let you know if price has changed.

I bought mine at pc show sb 800 $649

since you wun need the i-TTL, get the sb-28 or sb-80... more than enuff leh... get second hand lor since no more production. if got more money to spare, get the 600. 800 to expensive liaoz...

Actually, if don't need SB-800 or SB-600, just get a "manual" flash (powerful one, GN must be high high. :bsmilie: ) with autothyristor. Just less flexible and doesn't work that well for off-center subjects but still very decent results if you have the time to set up.

Thanks everyone share your idea and provide me the good recommendation :sweatsm: I think I will wait and see whether I will move into D-SLR, if go SB-600/800, if not wait for the 2nd hand SB-28/80/DX. ;)
