I've discovered a minor bug with Capture 4.1 when processing and resaving NEF files taken from a Coolpix 5000. If I crop the image to 2:3 aspect ratio and resave as NEF, the embedded NEF thumbnail is still in 3:4 aspect ratio. The bizarre part is that instead of just a simple black "letterbox" borders, the cropped image is shifted upwards, sometimes cropping off part of a person's head in the picture.
Capture 3, 3.5 and 4.0 previously saved the CP5000 NEF thumbnails as 2:3 aspect ratio thumbnails. At least the converted JPEG files still look normal. D100 NEF files are not affected. I've tried this on two separate PCs running WinXP and Win98 with the same results.
Does anyone else have this problem? :dunno:
