Nikon 28-200mm G or 70-300mm ED

Would like some of your comments on the above.

In terms of image quality, which is the better choice?

i've had exp with 28-200g.. a so-so lens but still not so bad... imo, i suppose you could go fr 70-300.. or better still, 80-400VR
