Hello guys,

Anyone know what is the differences between D and non-D Nikkor 24mm F2.8 lenses?

I always doubt if they both are actually deliver similar quality of image.

I believe the optics are the same, except the D version has the distance encoder. (Your image exif actually records that distance too) Besides 3d matrix metering, I believe the Nikon flash system uses the distance information too.

Go for AFS 24mm 1.8g. If you are purchasing one.
