Anyone know the photo resolution needed for newspaper printing?
 

Newspaper uses an image resolution of 170dpi at the size of the picture used.
This is because it uses an 85 line screen.

Lets say you want to have a photo 2" by 3" you would need 340 px by 510 px.
Or 2" x 3" at 170dpi.

Depends a lot on what newspaper you're talking about. Newspapers might print at 170dpi, but you don't need 170dpi. The content is paramount in newspaper images generally speaking, not technical quality.
