newbie here, just bought a tamron 90mm f2.8 macro lens using Canon 500D
hoping to capture some insects close up shots
went to botanic garden but only get to see dragonflies..:(
Any recommendations to places with exotic and wide range of insects species to capture?
I love praying mantis..any idea where?
;)

You can join those macro outings with members here!

Wow thanks.. thats a great list of places with insects..

Learn about the insects first. You need to understand them a lil, such as the minimum distance you can get near, etc...

Don't expect your first few trips to produce excellent results. Keep trying. :)

Hi

May I know how much u bought for the macro lens?

Macro lens itself should be sufficient for shooting dragonflies. Try to shoot w/o the 500D first unless you wanna take super macro shots.
