1. Read up on basic knowledge of exposure/photography
2. Read up on yr camera's manual from front to back
3. Review pictures taken and posted by other members
4. Join like-minded ppl in outings
5. Share yr pictures for non-judgemental reviews

your camera has 1 year of warranty. Additional 3 months if online promo still on.

make use of that time to put the camera through its paces.
