Need tips on weather/gear/general during late July->Aug travel to WA,Albany,Esperance

Hi,

anyone experience driving holiday in WA, Perth, Albany, Margaret R and Esperance during late July/August?
is it rainy season? how's the coldness like? I know it's winter and cold to be visiting beaches and like
but it's the low season and cheapest lol.

I booked my flight already, arranging itinerary now

Any advise from anyone who knows the area/been there recently during this time of the year would be appreciated
