Well, that is true... hum pretty hard to decide I guess... Will use my lunch break to search about tripod...

You can just drop by the tripod section at CP Peninsula, tell them your budget and ask them to recommend. The uncle there is very helpful.

Yeah... I think I will do that... For the bags, where should I go, I mean any recommendation for shop that sell variety of bags? my GF a bit picky with this thing, better bring her along about this bag thing

For bags, it depends on how you like to get to your gear and how much gear you want to bring out. If you have a lot of gear and take your time to remove and replace gears, then you can consider the bigger backpacks.

If you like to get at them faster, then consider the shoulder bags. But note that shoulder bags are strenous on the shoulders when you load them heavily.

I think I will get the sling bag... but if I buy the big one, back pack is a must, need to add doctor cost into consideration if I get Big sling bag... :bsmilie:

Cost of shoulder muscle rubs, cost of going to massage. etc.... :bsmilie:

Lolz... that is true... I hate to bring 2 laptops using sling bags (one is mine another one is hers)... but can not use back pack since my GF complaining...

SO I guess, better ask my GF to choose the bag... maybe she want to massage me if I got muscle pain... ;p

TS, There are tons of lowepro bags at CP Peninsular as well. One of the widest selections of Lowepro bags in Singapore. Take your time to shop there.

Thank for the info, tomorrow afternoon I will go there.

Btw, just curious, TianYa filter, is the quality acceptable? Just realize that there is such thing. Not planning to buy, but I just curious about the quality

THanks a lot... searched... I guess it is ok for me to buy it when I feel like I want to experiment with different2 filter... Maybe can be a good experience :)

Best to bring yoru DSLR and a backup compact PnS.

Just update my condition now...

Bought D90 + prime + bag already... shortage of D90 supply become a real problem... luckily I can get 1 from TK....

now, Just want to make sure, for the lake/river photos, should I get CPL Filter? and also for the sky (mountain + sky) should I get ND filter? Because I just review my travel plan, most of them will be going to mountain or river...

Congrats. Did you get the kit lens as well? And by prime lens you're referring to the 50mm I guess?

No and no. You don't need a CPL for lake/river unless you want to reduce the reflection from the water surface. And you don't need ND for mountain & sky. CPL is for "making the sky more blue" or reduce reflection from glass/water surface etc. ND is for "making the water looks silky" by slowing down the shutter speed (you'll need a tripod). So if you wish to achieve those, then yes. Anyway, if you have left over budget, it is good to have these 2 type of filters with you.

What's important next is the tripod actually.

Yes... 50mm f/1.8

Yeah, but I do not think they (people who go with me to switzerland) will allow me to bring the tripod... so I do not think to buy it at this moment.

ps: I think I know what kind of lens that I need to buy next... in the past 24 hours, I realise (altough I do not want to admit it) that 70-300 3rd party lenses can become handy in some situations that i encounter. Get red-green lizard 'model' this morning, but could not reach it with my lens. I need to be a spider man if I want to shorter my distance. Lolz...

anyway, I am really thankful with all contibutors help. :)

Without tripod you'll be missing out the night scenes and sunrise & sunset. And yup the 70-300 (or 70-200) will come in handy, probably for shooting in the city, but won't be used too often when shooting scenaries during your trip.

congrats!
D90 + prime only? That's a bit restrictive.
No wide-to-normal zoom?

ups... sorry... absolutely with the kit...

I know about that... well, I do not even think that there will be an opportunity to sunrise and sunset... maybe for the night scene, I will try to find another way... Because we follow a tour... so can not 'choose' what activity that we want to do.
