Need some professional help with old 35mm slides

Have just brought a lot of 35mm slides dating from mid 1950's out of storage intending to digitize them and was shocked to see many had some form of mould/derioration on them.

Is there a place in this "huge" forum I should look to find hints/advice, or can anyone give me contacts for experienced organisations or members in Singapore who could help me out in assessing the slides and whether they can be salvaged with a view to digitising them. If possible I would like to digitise to allow poster sized blow ups of some.

Any help would be appreciated.

there are other articles in photo.net and other sites with various advise on how to do this

Generally, get the slides as cleaned up as possible before scanning and then using despeckling and other software try to digitally clean up the images

most cost effective is to get your own slide scanner (35mm?) if you have alot of slides to scan
