Hi all!
I need some advice pertaining to digital cam purchases.

One of my friend is an Architecture student, and he needs a digital cam.

looking ard $1-1.5k.
The only requirements that I think he needs are probably a wide-angle + fast lens....

These are some of the options that I am looking at:
Canon G3
Olympus C750 (this is unreleased right?)

But I was thinking that cams with superzooms suffer at the extreme ends of the focal length..

So, recommendations anyone? :D
Thanks!

i would recommend the Nikon Coolpix 5000

it has got 28mm wide angle inbuilt
if not enough can always add a wide angle convertor
has a swivel LCD to help compose shots in diffcult angles

other models like minolta 7i or 7hi is out of the budget

I would also say the Coolpix 5000 but with the WC-E68 Wide angle lenses. This will give you a 19-58mm zoom (35mm eq).

Wide & Fast Huh?
The C-5050 has a f/1.8 aperature at wide. the best so far, I have seen. (35-105)

Sony's F717 has a f/2.0 aperature at wide, though it's wide is at 38mm (38-190)

The 2 cameras has the fastest lens among the prosumers. A wide-angle converter will bring down the 35 or 38 to lower.
