Hi guys, I'm a newbie with kinda alot of time this few weeks before sch starts.. i love photography and would like to build a portfolio for myself.. How do you think i should start??

Do you have a camera presently? The equipment that you have plays a role in determining the limitations of what you can produce and hence your portfolio.
Have you taken alot of pictures already? If you have not, then it is a good idea to go out there and shoot all areas of photography from landscape to portraiture or even macro.. this will help in ascertaining which area(s) you are truly interested in and hence concentrate your efforts in that direction when building your portfolio.
next time, instead of making such comments add on more information to what you would like to know so at least other members can provide you 'better advise' as you have put it.
