I love the emotional and heartrending 1973 hit "Mother of Mine" by the one hit wonder, 12 years old Neil Reid. I love this song eversince its release in 1973. A very wonderful tribute to all mothers and everytime I hear the song, it never failed to leave me teary as it reminds me of my mother who passed away 3 years ago.:cry: I have never heard it over the radio and they should at least play it once during Mothers' Day. Very emotional and touching song.:cry: Here are the lyrics and a clip of the song.
Mother of Mine - Neil Reid
Mother of mine you gave to me, all of my life to do as I please,
I owe everything I have to you,
Mother sweet mother of mine.
Mother of mine when I was young
You showed me the right way things had to be done,
Without your arms where would I be,
Mother sweet mother of mine.
Chorus:
Mother you gave me happiness, much more than words can say,
I thank the lord let me breathe with you, every night and every day.
Mother of mine now I am grown and I can walk straight all on my own,
I'd like to give you what you gave to me,
Mother sweet mother of mine.
Chorus
Mother of mine now I am grown and I can walk straight all on my own,
I'd like to give you what you gave to me,
Mother sweet mother of mine.
Mother sweet mother of mine.
