Here is a scene I took few days back
I hope to receive comment especially about the composition, and colors (is it over-edited ?).
Any other critique and comment will be greatly appreciated.

Equipment is 400d with 17-40
Setting is f/11, 1/400, ISO-100

May a horizontal pose with less upper sky be better?

yeah, kinda agree with that. but the composition for this photo is okay too. :)
just that, i feel that the colour is over saturated. the picture is overall over edited.
just my two cents worth. ;)

I think the colours are abit overdone, the glow is a slightly false yellow (there is a slight lack of red in the glow).

I am actually fine with the portrait orientation, but I would love to see the person a bit nearer to the center (not dead center but nearer) to the frame. Right now, the person is a little too much into the shadow area to stand out.

Yup, it's a nice photo, but the small main subject (silhouette) doesn't have that much impact, especially since the title is about her stroll.

how about using a flash for fill in for your subject?

That largely depends on how far the subject is. Honestly, most, and I daresay all, of our modern speedlites don't stand much of a chance in filling in against direct sunlight, especially if you are exposing for the sun.
