I think u r referring to canon 50mm lens.
I have called cp, ap and ms color, all out of stock for 1.8f lens and they dunno when stock coming.
Because I am going overseas soon so i bought a 2nd hand lens from a CSer.
it's very small and light. Everything is ok except the focus noise is very very loud and DOF is v shallow.

I doubt you will be able to get much discount on the f1.8 since it's so cheap oredi and stocks being so limited now. Though you guys may want to try the f1.4 version.
bnh retailing the f1.4 for 513 usm version non-usm version is 504.. wonder what's local prices like...

Both out of stock. IMOH - f1.4 is really too expensive (4.5x the price!!! :bigeyes: ). Is it a matter of f1.8 not good that people would choose the f1.4 one over it?
Or f1.8 is reasonable and its a matter of need for 1 stop difference + USM.

However, for long term view, i understand the built quality is very much difference. f1.8 is plastic-like, noisy, etc... and f1.4 is supposed to be top-quality. If you want quality, long-term ownership and have the budget, i think f1.4 is a fair consideration.

Urm, I have been sourcing for the lens (f1.8) for a week now. All out of stock. If you looking for canon mount, the only cheapest place that still has it is konata, going at $140. TCW deals as middle man selling at $160. Stock for AP was said to come in next week.
