Sometimes a hunch can turn up fine surprises. On this day by my favourite hunting ground, Miss Yellow-Rumped Flycatcher decided to pose for the camera. My only complaint was it tends to pose very very near such that focusing has become a problem.

Except for #1, all taken under available light since this poor feather jumps when flashed.

D300+500+1.4x wide @F5.6, ISO 800-1250, shutter 1/50 to 1/125s. Fired on tripod foot above ground.

Yape confirm jump when flash ...and always very high ...good eye level you have there:thumbsup:

Looks like they have gotten to know the limitation of lens and are trying to annoy us so they can have some peace.

Either too far or suddenly too dam near.:bsmilie:

Enjoyed these shots alot.

Thank you.

nice set on YRF.

thx. from my observation it is possible to hit this feather at the right spot if you spend a little time observing its favorite perch, even if it means having to sit on your butt for 2hours at a go for that shot :)

Jeff,
Always nice to see this Bird with a clean b/g.
Well done.
Thanks for sharing this pic and also for sharing a space for me to shoot.

nice catch of the Mrs, would love to see Mr Yellow Rumped.
That stump is one of her better perch

I want to see the Master of the house too...

Nice meeting with you Jeff. I was with Jonathan, Jason and David that day..
