MF/LF Outing - Whampoa , Balestier Trail

As spoken on the Keong Saik Thread, we are going to Balestier this Saturday. For those who want to have breakfast, pls come at 730am. Those who are fortunate to have breakfast at home can join us at 800am.

Meeting Place: Blk 90 Whampoa Drive - Map of Whampoa Drive Block 90 Market & Food Centre 320090
Take note there are 2 food centre structures there, look for blk 90.
Date: 18 February 2012 (Saturday)
Time: 730am to 8am (Breakfast) - 8am to 10am (walk about)
Directions to get there . Bus 21, 124, 125, 131. Else just flag a taxi

Suggested Stop points :
1. Old style Bakery
2. Photoshop with the big KODAK sign
3. Wayang Stage
4. Art deco shop houses (whatever that means)
5. Old style barber (not sure where)

Wet Weather Plan : If it drizzle/rain before the outing, then it is up to your own (including myself) discretion to turn up or not
If it drizzle/rain during the outing, pack up and go have a coffee or breakfast nearby

Went there for lunch. Took some recce shots.


Somehow the Whampoa Food center and market is in 3 blocks- blk 90, 91, 92. Let meet at blk 90.


Blk 90 is where the Famous Hoover Rojak stall is . But i never tried it before.

Billy i wanted to ask u..do u scan them urself? Slides r so difficult to scan on my canon 8800f tat i gave up n shoot negative..

I have not send my film for scanning before.
all my films are self-scanned. EPSON V700

Normally ( 90% of the time ), I only use the EPSON software that comes with the scanner.
It should be sufficient for my usage.
- RGB curve
- RGB histogram
- saturation...

more then enough already.

I also have Vuescan, it is more powerful in a sense that it can do a bit of a white balancing itself.
The IR scanning pass is also very impressive... but, you have to wait and wait.. so, unless it is an award winning shot, don't waste time.
