Hi,
I'm not talking about DSLR here. I know that most digital camera can do manual focus but most done by pressing buttons on the camera body rather then turning the rings on the lens. Is there any digital camera that allow manual focus by turning rings on the zoom lens?
The range of the camera I looking for is something like 5700 or 7HI. But any input is welcome.
Thanks

Trevor

Fujifilm S602Z, S602pro
Minolta 7i, 7hi
Olympus E10, E20 (DSLR with non-interchangeable lens)
Sony 707, 717

hope the above helps :gbounce:

Actually, MF on con/prosumer DCs are pretty much useless - whether by pressing buttons or using a fly-by-wire focussing ring, it's pretty much unusable. New cameras like the G3 has a "focussing loupe" to make things easier, but it's still rather fiddly.

If your DC has a distance scale like the G3, C5050Z, the older Coolpixes, etc, then the best way to do MF is to set to the approximate subject distance, set a mid-aperture and fire away. DoF will take care of everything else. DCs have such a large DoF anyway.

CK
