Some recent photos from various locations. All taken handheld with Canon 40D with 100mm macro or MP-E 65 mm.

Red tent spider (Cyrtophora unicolor), about an inch long, at Sg Buloh Wetland Reserve. This spider is quite common but mostly overlooked. If you see a messy web with lots of dead leaves hanging from it, check the leaves closely to find the spider clinging to one of them. Taken with 100mm macro.

Juvenile mantid. Very common but also not often spotted due to their camouflage. Both from Sungei Buloh and taken with 100mm macro.

Spiny ant (Polyrhacis sp.) at Sg Buloh. Taken with MP-E65mm macro.

Bird dropping mimic crab spider (Phyrnarachne ceylonicus) at Botanic Gardens. Quite easy to spot if you take the trouble to check every piece of 'bird ****' on leaves. Taken with 100mm macro.

Good macro shots!

Interesting creatures there!

Esp the bird dropping spider.

Find the flash abit harsh, with very strong shadows, though.

Thanks for your comments! Ya, flash could be more diffuse. Was just using on-shoe flash with Stofen.

Great collection of Macros!! Very impressive. Btw did u use a ring flash or normal flash?

The 2 spiders are really interesting... Nice shots!
