Hi, how do u guys out there decide on what settings (eg. iso, shutter speed, aperature) to use to take a macro shot (for example, bees on a flower)?

For me i always use an ISO between 100-200, aperture of f/8 - f/16 and shutter speeds from 1/125- 1/180sec. An external flash is always used too but a macro flash would be better to further reduce shadows.

a fast enough shutter speed to prevent camera shake 1/160s
a small enough aperture for greater dof - depends on light and subject
an ISO speed to get a usable exposure - depends

ortega, this is a very good way to reply, at least I know faster shutter speed and smaller aperture are better......Thank you
