after reading all the reviews on tamron 90 and canon ef100 ..finally decided on the smaller and faster canon lens..the af is indeed very fast and doesnt extend like tamron..users of the canon lens, care to share ur techique in taking good macro pics of small things such as insects and plants..those with other lens also can share ur methods..camera setting, use of tripod etc

Have u started shooting with your 100mm? Post some pics. I am a 100mm user too.

O.T. abit today I can't seem to view quite a number of pics posted in threads. Flickr ones loads, other like photobucket ones just won't load. SH connectivity issue? Anyone having same problem?

Handheld always makes you shoot wide (f/2.8)... coz the lens is pretty hefty...

i find that manual focus is faster when taking marco
oh ya,can use that to take portraits too:D

The AF is not that fast, but the lens is sharp! later post.

true,very sharp lens
I find a tripod rather cumbersome
using flash will be a good idea
and set to higher aperture to get more dof
here're 2 shots
2nd was shot with direct flash,abit harsh:sweat:
