If I attach close up filter to my lens for macro shots, do I still need to activate my camera's macro function? Or rather will activating the macro function get in the way when focusing? Is it the right way not to use camera macro feature when close up filters are used? :dunno:

You shouldn't require the macro mode on your camera with a macro/close-up filter. I haven't tried what happens if you turn on the macro mode, but I suspect it won't be able to focus, or the focusing distance becomes ridiculously small?? :dunno:

You do not need to turn macro on. But there will not be any difference (from my experience with C700) even if you turn it on. Focusing ability and speed still remains very much the same.
