Macro & Manual Focus working together? Sony DSC-H1

Hi, I'm new to Sony DSC-H1, and was playing around and realised that when I go under Macro mode, I cannot get the camera to let me do manual focus. It is either Macro mode, or manual focus. They will overwrite each other when I try it. However, Macro and autofocus works hand in hand. Is all non-DSLR cams like that?

it is true that when u choose manual focus mode you cannot choose macro.
manual overwrites everything giving u the freedom to focus from any distance to infinity. And i suppose most cams out there works this way.

macro mode just tells the cam to focus closer than it normally does, just that the cam takes control.. I believe manual focus allows you to focus all the way down to the min. focusing distance like in macro mode too?
