:DIt's been a while since I last explored the "Garden of Eden 1" a year ago. Its a place some call it the last frontier of wildlife santuary to be found in Singapore but this trip, it will strictly be a macro photography. Just show you some of the stuff taken there. See link. (2nd link photo of the spider on the road before entering the jungle).

http://home.pacific.net.sg/~leect/Wildlife10.html - Giant Longhorn Beetle climb over my body (larger than those ordinary longhorn)
http://home.pacific.net.sg/~leect/Wildlife11.html - Giant Stick Insect (a real close encounter of a 3rd kind)
http://home.pacific.net.sg/~leect/Wildlife12.html - A rare full grown adult Wagler's Pit-Viper (venomous snake of Singapore)
http://home.pacific.net.sg/~leect/Wildlife13.html - H.Centipede eating a Cricket
http://home.pacific.net.sg/~leect/Wildlife14.html - Daddy-Long-Legs Spider (highly poisonous spider)

Those who are keen, pls email me direct at leect@pacific.net.sg and leave your mobile as I only can bring in 4 people at any one time due to sensitivity of the location. We will meet at Novena MRT on Sat morning (27 June) and share a taxi to the secret location. Those who plan to drive there, sorry its not suitable as the place is not allow for parking:D.

:DHi, Response is fantastic and overwhelming. Pls do not pm me directly as I got no time to check. Just sent an email to leect@pacific.net.sg with your name and mobile. Thank you for your support.;p

:cry:sgfreestyler - sorry, the place is really & very vulnerable as its home to the rarest wild animal in Singapore (a mammalian family group) which probably extinct or less than 3 if it ever existed now.

dRebelXT - :cry:Thanks for your understanding. Those who are selected for the coming trip are the lucky few. We will be very selective in our next trip to be announced.

The last sighting of this animal was 14 years ago in Singapore and thereafter, no one has seen it till today. Should there be any sightings of this wild animal in Singapore would be like seeing a living dinosour back from extinction. A dead but very well preserved specimen of the Giant Cream-Coloured Squirrel been taxidermised is currently been exhibited in the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity, NUS  See http://rmbr.nus.edu.sg/media/Archives2003/species_loss.html.

To undertand how rare and the status of this animal in the wild in Singapore, pls see the following link from google.

Pls see link below of a photo taken in the wild of the highly & extremely rare/critically endangered wild animal of Singapore by Nature Trekker Singapore:eek:.

Wow, that's really a rare squirrel. Sad to see that the species may have extinct in Singapore.

Hi to those 4 successful participants for this coming Saturday expedition,

:nono:pls wear high cut boot / shoe due to danger of snake bite as the place is very with undergrowth. For snake lover like myself, its a so called snake infested area with many specie to be found both at ground and eye level. One of the Bronzeback specie actually flew across my face (less than 1 metre away) from a high tree branch & landed onto the ground in front of me but unfortunately my camera was not ready and before I could take a shot, the snake slipped into the thick bushes.

Snake sighted by me in the past includes Indo-Chinese Rat Snake, Malayan Brown Snake (was seen looking for food at the wetter part of the forest floor - size abt 6 to 7 foot long), 3 species of Bronzeback, Oriental Whip Snake (stay very still almost like part of the tree branch), H. Wolf Snake (found along the jungle trail), Equitorial Black-Spitting Cobra (raise its head and stare at me for a minute), Mangrove or Gold-Ringed Cat Snake (I had a good video from Sony), Dwarf Reed Snake (easily mistaken for a baby snake of some sp.), and few others unidentified as it escape my eyes.

Pls wear green and if possible jungle fatique to be able to blend with surrounding environment in order enjoy seeing wildlife at its best. Pls bring along own medical aid (can buy from dept or watson) as any accident from injuries, animal bite (snake or hornet / bees), there is no access for help by paramedic due to the difficult and not easy to find location in the thick of the jungle. Worst scenorio, the team will help carry out the person if injured and trip cancelled. So lets pray no injuries or animal attack during trip. Went for a recce recently myself and saw this http://home.pacific.net.sg/~naturetrekkers/naturetrekker-wildlife8.html and http://home.pacific.net.sg/~naturetrekkers/naturetrekker-wildlife9.html

To summarise the place in short, the sensitive place we are going is equal to the legendary movie of "Raiders from the Lost Ark" where we are the raiders going into the unknown called the "Lost Ark".

:DHi,

Our next trip may well be called the "Wildlife Photography at the Garden of Eden 2". Its a different location with Garden of Eden 1. Garden of Eden 2 is more dense and wilder than the Garden of Eden 1. Very few if none know where on earth is this place which is tuck away from civilisation of hustle and bustle of city dweller. Will organise soon but look out for it. Again it will strictly be restricted to a shortlist 4 pax due to extreme sensitive nature area. Cheers:bigeyes:

sound like some commando trip haha!

wildsoyabean - :Dyes my trip is always behave like commando in clandestine operations. All successful participants will be given a list of what to bring, type of outfit and colour tone (usually earth-related tone), trip behaviour & camaradie (no loud voice, stay confine, respect nature, group think) etc in order to get the maximum chance of seeing wildlife at close range without been notice. Some past trip participants did complaint that my trip is too regimental like army but that's the way you will get good result if you can accept the fact. Discipline is critical to enjoy best macro. Else how do I get all those close up shots posted.
