Macbook: Rapidly decreasing harddrive space?

Hi guys, Happy CNY!

I've got an issue I need to resolve. My harddrive is partitioned into ~127GB and ~21GB parts. I use the 21GB strictly for 'current' photos that then go into my big powered hard drive.

However, the 127GB has been rapidly decreasing in space, and I don't know why.

I use Lightroom2, but the backups only take up 5GB for instance.

I use iPhoto for exporting to facebook but even then, all photos are 600x400 and that's not a lot.

I don't have that much music, probably only 10GB max.

My Adobe and Microsoft Office apps don't take up that much space as well.

Now, do you guys know if there are any mac programs that might take up so much space?

what do you mean by rapidly decreasing hard disk space?

do you mean to say you started with 127GB for main and 21GB for photos originally and you do not know now how your harddisk space is utilised?

127GB
less 5GB (Lightroom2 backups)
less 10GB (music)
less 1GB (Adobe)
less 1GB (Microsoft Office)
Net Free Space 110GB

21GB
less 2GB (estimate size for facebook photos 600x400)
Net Free Space 19GB

Original Harddisk Capacity = 148GB (127+21)
Used Space is 19GB or 13%
Free Space is 129GB (110+19) or 87%

So it seems like you still have lots of harddisk space!

Why dont you share with us your current free harddisk space for each partition?

You mentioned you export photos into facebook on 600x400. What happened to the original photos? Are they still in iPhoto? Cos that could take up easily take up a huge chunk of it.

Also what programs have you installed so far?

Is your Time Machine operating and saving a back up of your system onto your partioned drives?
