Yes, for that price, TS is more likely to get an ass photographer than an assistant photographer.
But there will still be people who don't mind shooting for that price.
So no point telling TS off or asking why must have own camera or is it assistant or 2nd photographer or whatever.
Best we could do is to ignore this thread and spend our time on more productive activities, like spending time with your loved ones.

maybe a student who recently bought a DSLR with kit lens and flash don't mind helping?
He can shoot in full auto mode to cover a wedding? Thats $10 per hour standard I guess?
So long the main photographer perform his job well enough, the assistant is just for backup?
