UNITED AND LIVERPOOL FIGHT OVER 'WONDERKID'
This is more like it. We want big money with our gossip and so we're much pleased with The Sun for stepping forward to declare that 'Manchester United and Liverpool are ready to slug it out for £20million Brazilian wonderboy Lucas Rodrigues.'
According to the paper, both clubs have taken a look at the midfielder, with United 'running the rule over the 19-year-old Sao Paulo midfielder' with a view to him replacing Paul Scholes while, despite the youngster being under contract until 2016, 'Liverpool could test the water by slapping in a bid in the New Year. They face serious competition from United and Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan.'
We rather suspect that there's absolutely nothing to this tale, but there you go.
