Lighting Question

Hi guys

New to studio photography. I was wondering what kind of lights to use to mimic the sun, like the model is under intense sun on a white background (without turning the background to flat white) and you still see shadow and the difference in the background. Any advise?

largest soft box hung high up, and angled.

 

[catchlights]

if you want the edges of shadow are hard and define, you need spot light, or else you can use bare bulb.
