Hi,

Has anyone any idea where I can get the 17-40 f/4 cheapest? And how much would that be?

Thanks.

If you don't mind second hand, get it from the Buy & Sell section.
You should be able to get one around $900.
Brand new should be around $1,100.

Cheapest new ones you can get from Oracle

yes... the 2nd market is good... some are really mint and will even throw in 77mm Filter. Save $200 for another lens.

First post!

Getting back to the original topic, I myself am a new 400D user. My first lens was the 18-55mm kit lens which seems borderline adequate.

After careful and deliberated research, I've found that most prosumers would probably need at least another more-capable walkaround lens, and also a portrait lens (prime lens).

Therefore, I bought myself a Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM lens and Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens.

I haven't really had a chance to test it out yet, but if you're like myself, you'd probably want to invest in similar lenses.

Hope this helps.

Tamron 28-75 f2.8 is pretty good too

Yeap, personally I find 28 not wide enough. I can live with 24.

Hi

17-40L, any grey copy? any good or worth it?

Might as well top up 100-200 bucks and get one new with warranty and everything that comes in the box.
