lens choice for pentax

Hi all,

Possible to share some experiences of what the lens choice you got for pentax?

I used 50mm f/1.4, 28mm f/2.8 and 105/f2.5 for nikon SLR before, and i find myself kind of used to this combination.

I kind of stick to prime lense since for the wide aperture. Currently i am using takumar 50mm f/1.4, and the pentax 18-55 kit lense.

Takumar is fine but i found the 50mm on digital body which make it like 65mm is kind of 'long'..and manual focus is limited for some kind of shooting.

what are my choices that is close to 50mm f/1.4? i know pentax got some 'limited' which is quite expensive, any good experiences?

Pentax lenses are typically designed smaller than their counterparts. The limited lenses are unique for their build quality (all metal with focus markings), size while retaining a rather fast aperture for such small lens designs and good OOF rendering. Certainly something to look to. There are many good lenses outside the limiteds as well. The DA35/2.4 for example is really a good deal with its price, performance and nice bokeh.

The Nikon plastic fantastics come at a cost. You need a D90 or higher to use them
(no lens drive motor, so can't be used on D3100, D5000)

haven't tried out how a f/2.4, i wonder how its bokeh comparing to f/1.8.. I find it is useful for a great bokeh..

Nikon 35mm f1.8 do have a AFS motor built in... Its their older 50mm f1.8 that requires a D90 or higher.
