She was besides me but not exactly posing for me, so is this considered as "Portraits / Poses"?

Anything wrong with this shot??

Yes, a lot of things, especially during the post-processing, you could do really better and you have too.

- Unsharp mask
- dark background
- more light on the face
- +20 in gamma and basic curves adjustments

Here is the result

Yes, a lot of problems with this shot:
  1. Underexposed subject. Try using fill flash.
  2. Messy background. Try shooting from other angles.
  3. Blurred subject. Hand shake? Type of lens used? etc...

Shoot more and share more! :)

Thanks to EOW, STOUGARD (especially for guidance on PPing) and Virgo for valuable advice. Will learn from these and i was using a tripod but for this picture , i took it out for "fun" and tried it :p

Trying to shoot so that i can practise more .. abt sharing.. here's another one, though i not sure if it's should be in sports or not though the couple seem to be posing for me in their Rumba Routine

Hopefully this picture is slightly better, maybe slightly underexposed? I tried not to use flash as much as possible for that i wont distract the competitors...
