what should i say
if my clay lips
could part to
make way for
the tumult of my
hollow torso
missing
a stone hewn
heart?

what is immortality
but the longest dream,

Winter's search
for the
emerald breath of

spring bud glow?

not the best shot... but things are moving slowly.

guess where?

i've also ordered an sb700 from DD electronics. now to save up to get something to replace my dying tamron 17-50. thinking of a 28-75 in preparation for *the future* ... but I really do need the wide end in the mean time :(

things will continue to be slow, but here's one I took a while back as part of a final walkabout in NUS. I named the series "After Four". (referring to the years i spent there)

maybe I should do one for NIE this year.

and now, for something completely different.

when you are at a birthday party with time to kill and friends who don't mind playing along.

reminded again how steep the learning curve is when you throw a flash into the picture.

btw i bought a Rogue small positionable reflector... many possibilities to explore with all the bending and twisting to do.

in the normal landscape orientation it really is quite a bad shot.

things change when you pause to take things in from another perspective... still not very outstanding but i think it allows the eye to take in and appreciate some details in this case

looking forward to the nikon announcements!

it's true. don't use gear that you are not familiar with.

d700 + MB-D10 + 28-70 2.8 + SB700 = finger pain.

wasn't shooting at my best because not used to the weight.

learnt a lot from the pro that was present.

i have so many of my basics that are lacking, especially tighter framing. will get there sure enough with sufficient instruction!

a quick handheld shot at the NIE quadrangle (dunno what else to call it. it's a triangular patch of grass)

Perhaps can straighten the pic and have a lower angle shot to give a strong "fee; ?

actually i would need a higher angle shot in order to elongate the grass patch in the center!
