really would like to see how smart it is on green mode and just how improved the auto white balance is. I believe these are contributing factors to bringing in new users since its pretty much expected they will use green mode most of the time at first.
so far..the K-7 selling points not really convincing yet to trade up the K20D in my opinion unless freaking cheap.
The list goes on. But at least I think the above factors would allure me to get one as soon as the camera is available![]()
lend me
Let me tell you some selling points of the K-7:
1. super quiet shutter -- the best ever by Pentax! - I really want this one.
2. classic shape w/ better handling - nothing beats an eye candy
3. faster AF w/ AF assistant light, much improved for AFC and low light - not a must to me, but I'd love to play
4. improved WB and Metering - have been reported by some testers already
5. HDR - one of the best features for landscape photos
6. HD video - I'd love to shoot some movie w/ my FA*80-200
7. 3 LCD w/ 921k pixels (vs K20D's 2.7" 230k pixels), much improved for checking photos on the camera
8. 100% viewfinder w/ electronic level - what a cool feature
9. 1/8000s max shutter speed - sometimes it does happen to me that I need faster than 1/4000s speed
10. 5.2 fps, might be useful for some fast pace action photos
The list goes on. But at least I think the above factors would allure me to get one as soon as the camera is available![]()
Well, I guess you'd be perfectly okay just staying w/ the K20D camera![]()
Hi man, Desmond, I thot I saw your DA*55 mounted on this K7 ... :bsmilie:
I like the punchline 'Resistance is futile' ... join the 'red army'
i avoided coming in.. and i missed all the outing threads too..
wahhhh..
hahaha
then dont resist.. heehehhehehe..
sighs..
u guys .. stop posting the links to K-7..
arghhh..
-drools-
Whoever comes in here will NEVER be able to resist the K-7 poison.;p
Now I think FW is #1, Des is #2, Snowywolf #3?, who is next? . . .
Me? Dunno but still thinking about it . . .;p
1. super quiet shutter -- the best ever by Pentax! - I really want this one.
not really important, now that i have the LZ8 to supplement the K20D. Try guessing which is LZ8 pics and which is K20D at my License 2 Play Mega Thread over at Consumer.
2. classic shape w/ better handling - nothing beats an eye candy
as long it does its job, i dont give a damn how it looks like or handles since that just simply means adapting own style to fit the camera.
3. faster AF w/ AF assistant light, much improved for AFC and low light - not a must to me, but I'd love to play
should have been included with the K20D...wonder what happened to the people who suggested leaving the AF assist light out in the K20D.
4. improved WB and Metering - have been reported by some testers already
in Green Mode?
5. HDR - one of the best features for landscape photos
K20D has it but i do suppose most prefer to bracket and HDR using computer instead.
6. HD video - I'd love to shoot some movie w/ my FA*80-200
Can give it a try, but personally prefer a camcorder instead since it can record continuously as long the batteries last.
7. 3 LCD w/ 921k pixels (vs K20D's 2.7" 230k pixels), much improved for checking photos on the camera
I only use to check if blur or not...i trust the histogram more then what i see on the lcd.
8. 100% viewfinder w/ electronic level - what a cool feature
Not really important but the electronic levelling does sound intriguing.
9. 1/8000s max shutter speed - sometimes it does happen to me that I need faster than 1/4000s speed
I agree. Just that i wonder just how good it will be at night. Hopefully the sensors are more sensitive.
10. 5.2 fps, might be useful for some fast pace action photos
Kinda used to K20D`s 21fps. Made a few 1D and D3 owners jaw drop when they see in action. It aint poster quality if done casually but up to A3 is pretty nice.
Would be interesting if reviewers bring to sports events like swimming or pool diving and see if the camera can track/focus the athelete or roughly how much % of the shots are on target.
I need the K7 just for feature #3 & 8., especially #8. With the existing K20D , you can't see the LED metering in bright sunlight and that is really scary ...........![]()
cannot meh?
you look at sun all the time ar......
i think can or not depends on whether the person using want to or not..:devil:
