Organizing an outing for people who interest to shoot sunrise at this great & wonderful place.

Date: 19th June, 2010 (Saturday)
Time: 6:15am (Briefing & Headcount)
Meeting Point : Changi Point Ferry Terminal (refer attach map @ B21)
Shooting Point : Along Changi Point Coastal Walk (refer attach map @ Yellow route)
Contact Person : Jacobs, 97983246

[Schedule]
6:30am - 9:30am : Changi point coastal walk and find various good shooting point.
10am onwards : Having Breakfast & Chit-Chat @ Changi Village Hawker Center.

[Items To bring:]
1) DSLR Camera + lens(es) [Wide Angle Lens are recommended], P&S Camera or Film Camera
2) Tripod. This is essential. (If don't want to bring, definately cannot get your good & sharp image.)
3) Water Bottle (off-course fill with drink water)
4) Torchlight (If Applicable)

This is my first time attempt this shooting session, so prefer to welcome at least 1-2 Seniors who had experience of sunrise shooting for providing guidance to relative newbies like me..

(If anyone knows any lobang for free parking, please let us know. Not that we are stingy, but why let the garmen squeeze every drop of blood from us).

If i din rem wrongly, the parking charges only start from 830am (The carpark for Changi Point Ferry Terminal). Its Free parking on Sundays. Dun quote me thou as its been months since I last went there.

As all the carparks are open area with paying coupons. If not mistaken, the charges is everyday from 8.30am - 10.00pm (S$ 0.50/half hrs) --Include Saturday/Sunday/P.Holiday

Hi guys, I'm not joining but being a regular at changi as you can see from my posts, just a few things to take note.

1. Parking charges..err ive been there on weekdays til 9am (park at changi point) with no coupon but still no summon. i think parking charges do apply on sundays as well. but then again, my disclaimer is that do things at your own risk.

2. The tide on the 19th at around 6-7 am would be around the range of 1.5-2.0m so it will be high. do not expect to go down to the beach. Water level will be quite high. However, there will be good opportunities to have some "minimalistic" kind of shots along the way due to the high tide, if u can find any that is.

3. Look out for The Most Photographed Tree but then again, can't expect to go down and get close to it due to the tide and rocks that are not visible below the surface.

4. Sunrise will be at 0700h so do bring a mini torch along if you're there early to do some walkabout. First light would be around 0625h.

I guess that is about it. Sorry if there are any overlapping info that I may have said. In any case, if I happen to come down (which I don't think I will) hope to bump into some of you guys around although I think I don't know many here.

5.Most important! Wear long sleeves and slacks or bring insect repellant! Ive been bitten by sandflies like mad the past 2 mornings that my legs look like it's having chicken pox. Haha..sandflies are known to be very very very active in the morning once the sun hits the sand, they will wake up and all hell will break loose..

Hi guys, sorry..

Thinking back on the tide and area that you all will be in, i think insect repellant will be enough. therefore u can wear tshirts but preferably still with slacks. the tide is quite high and sandflies along boardwalk aint that much as compared to it's main beaches along carpark 4 to 7. it is known however that the area near the mouth of the changi river - where the bumboats go in and out - are mosquito ridden. been there, done it, suffered it.
