I'd take that with a grain of salt.

According to the B&H website listing the D-60 is on back order and delivery is expected in 2-4 weeks.

There's no news on the Canon USA website, nor on dpreview etc so I'd treat the email with a great deal of scepticism as it sounds like one of those malicious bits of misinformation.
