Is the Tokina 400mm AT-X SD lens still a good buy?

I've been reading up on this particular prime lens with great interests as it's available pretty cheap in the used market, and I manage to find one at a low price. But before I cough out the cash, anyone has this lens? Obviously I am not looking for comparisons with the Canon 400mm L equivalent, I would like to know what the general opinion is for those who have used it.
