Hi guys

im pretty new to photography, and im currently using Kit lens for the 500d ( 18-200mm)

i've seen some shots with the cannon ef 50mm they seem quite nice
can somebody explain to me whats the use of these lens and the type of shots they take and the Price guide? thanks a lot.

edit: btw does anyone know if a Samyang Fish Eye 8mm For cannon mount is good? im planning on getting one through EBAY cuz im not sure if singapore has any shops that sell samyang( im low on cash no money for Sigma. tokina etc)

50f1.8 is not bad lens at all, samyang i am not sure seems not very reliable lens (i bought one of-brand lens some time back and it is sitting in dry box since).
Since day one i am using this lens and it never disappoint me.

50mm f/1.8 is a lens that a lot of people buy because it is a fast lens, i.e. max aperture very large and relatively cheap price.

if none of this makes sense, then please read up more.

for samyang 8mm, here are some reviews:

which you COULD HAVE easily googled for yourself, but oh well.
