ipad as photo backup

With the new ipad 3 released, I am thinking of getting a 64gb wifi version for backup.

With the camera connection kit, how long does it take to transfer 8gb worth of pics? my camera is D700 if that matters.

It it quick like within 10 minutes?

what do you mean backup? as if photo album? 64g for backup is just non-sense.. you need external harddisk 2-3TB for backup purpose

When I saw this thread, I was thinking backup in the direction of added insurance, just in case the card fails.

hmm i feel that alantkh is gonna use it for more than just backup, like web browsing, entertainment, games etc. so i suppose that it's a viable choice.

but why not Android? like the Asus Transformer or Sony Tablet?

Some of the Android Tablets have built in memory card readers as well. Score one for convenience.

(from an iPad user, ironically, but I don't plan to use it for backup)

I am using 16 and 32GB SDHC cards. Your 64GB iPad won't do leh.
