Completely incorrect xmen1977 ...

Highly modified Nikon F bodies and FTN Photomics were used for the Apollo moon missions. Modifications included replacing the leather with black painted steel, enlarged film counter windows and film advance levers etc.

In 1981 NASA accepted delivery of modified F3 bodies and lenses for the Space Shuttle which as any 10 year old can tell you has never been to the moon.

In 1989 NASA took delivery of modfied F4 bodies.

Nikon Digital's are also used I believe.

The only other film cameras used by NASA in space are Hasselblads which were aboard every Moon bound Apollo spacecraft as well as the Shuttle.
