I can appreciate your design intent but for someone who has absolutely no idea about what the esplanade is, its kinda difficult to read your intentions.
Composition could be more effective if it was simpler, without so many elements cluttering the frame. There's just too much details to make this stand out graphically and not enough details to make out what those elements are actually, except the cranes and the esplanade roof.
