if it was an overheat cpu your computer will hang. If the beep sound does occur again listen to the sequence - long beep sound or short beep sound; it could be a combination of long and short beep sound. The sequence will indicate what is the problem with your comp.

Beep sounds mostly happened when connection of the hardware are loose. Esp graphic card, some of them which are heavy and when you thought you have inserted it right, beware, it could still not in position. Solution, make sure that those empty slot/s are cover with a bracket so that, the card above it got some support. If you just upgrade/clean your casing, make sure every thing tighten else you got problem.
