How to test a lens for CA?

1)As the title suggest. How do you test a lens for presence of CA.

2)And if there is CA, to what degree is it acceptable.

3)Or as long as there is CA present,irregardless the degree of it,it is highly advisable not to own it?

Shoot a high contrast scene. Building against sky works best.

There really is no answer to this.

If the govt decides to increase GST now, a how many percentage point increase is acceptable, assuming you can't say zero?

Every SLR lens suffers CA to some extent. If you set zero CA as a criteria, you'll never own any lens.

Take a picture of a tree with branches against a bright sky and see if you like what you see. If you like it keep the lens.

Perhaps you should read up about CA to better understand what it is all about, why it occurs etc.

Members can guide you along and help you understand concepts, but you should make an attempt to read up and understand the topic if you are truly interested and concerned. If you read up, you should be able to answer this question yrself.
