I just bought a hoya 77mm polarizer, and step up rings, at John 3:16 for about $100.

My EF lens are
1) Kit lens 18-55
2) 70 - 300

both are 58mm. However, my coming lens is 24-70, which is a 77mm diameter, so buy bigger one lor.

just l ike to check: is the hoya one you bought a HMC polarizer or a super HMC version ?

thanks

I am curious about the prices about CPL too :)

Can a kind soul enlighten me about the prices of
1) Standard (izzit single coated?) HOYA filter?
2) HMC HOYA filter?
3) Super HMC HOYA filter?

Thank you :D

+- cant remember the exec figure. B+W is abt $180 (non slim), tin its around $250 for slim, Nikon Cir Pol II is $210. Correct me if I'm mistaken...

I got the Nikon Cir Pol II 77mm for $180 at John 3:16 last Nov.

A question to asked on polarisers.

Most of the time, I leave my UV filter on the lens. When I need to use the polariser, is it advisable to remove the UV filter, or can I just fix on to the UV filter as well?

Hey, anyone know how's the quality of a OMAX CPL filter over HOYA? It only cost S$17 @ http://www.tagotech.com/camera.htm under "filters". The Star filter also cost only S$17 while the close-up filter kit only S$28. Thinking of getting them if anyone have any experience or comment.

+evenstar, may I know why there is a need to remove the UV filter before attaching the CPL? Thanks. :)

stacking ur filters raise the chances of vignetting happening.
