Next to you!
I just bought my D5000 some time ago, it's alright & I love it... ;p

One question:
What books should I read to help me understand DSLRs/D5000 better before heading for good shots?:D
- I am currently reading The Digital Photography Book Vol.3 by Scott Kelby from the National Library
One word, awesome!
However, I think I'll need more than that!

Thanks for recommending! (hahas)

Welcome to CS! :D

hmm..
i'm a newbie too.
but i don't think there's personally a shortcut or a super book that can make u a good photog.
u have to practice and practice. trial and errors.
that's why i feel.

hahas, I know that do...

I need to learn the basic first... :)
So that, I will be confident when taking photos outside!

Your manual is a good start. After that, experience, tempered with some good reading material that should be specific to your interests.

Welcome to CS :)

U dun really need to buy any more books.. ur user manual is more than enough to let you master ur cam..

There's tons of resources online, bascially u need to read up on the fundamentals of photography, composition etc and shoot more.

Welcome:)

First of all, welcome to CS!

Understanding the basics of photography (shutter speed, aperture, ISO etc) is critical. Learn as you shoot, and remember - Google is your best friend ;)

Hi Moody Hero

Welcome to the club.

After reading the manual that came with your camera, you can try reading this Intro by sulhan.

Cheers!
