Help - vivitar 285hv wont fire remotely

Hi everyone,
my vivitar 285hv won't fire with a PT04 remote trigger, even though it used to be able to do so flawlessly.

I tried some other combinations and they were successful.

1) PT04 with speedlite - ok
2) 285hv mounted directly on 40D - ok

What could be the problem?

could be a connection problem, tried not locking the flash to the trigger? I sometimes get that with my 430EXII..

problem solved! batteries not enough power lah.
