Help Needed on Viewfinder

Hey i was out snapping photos today and everything was fine until when i reached home i noticed a small black line on the top right hand when i look thru the viewfinder. It appears to be hair (or dust) i cant really make out what it is. It doesnt appear in the photos tho. I tried shooting again.

Im guessing it doesnt have anyth to do with the lens. How do I get rid of it? Must I send it to canon and if yes how much? (no more warranty)

Why don't you just get a $5 blower and clean it yourself?

this thread is god sent!
i faced the same problem few weeks ago, and i did used a blower to blow off but to no avail.
i went down to canon's service center for cleaning but they were closed -.-

*mine is actually a small dot on the bottom right corner.

any other ways to get rid of it?

What about bearing with it? I've got dust in my viewfinder too...it's no biggie.

bearing with it is not a problem for me.
but i still can't confirm that it's from my viewfinder -.-
i'm positive that the dot's not there in my photos, but any ways to confirm it?

If you can see it when you look through the VF, then it's on the VF. Dust on the sensor will not show up in the VF.

If you can see it on th VF, it can be on the VF, focusing screen or mirror.

Try blowing all these areas...
