I want to visit johor bahru next week, do anyone know which one is better for stay and nearby city center of johor bahru? Thank you.

What's your budget and what star rating you into? The better hotel that is near to like City Square would be Puteri Pacific JB. If you take a taxi it will stop at Kotaraya and it is just about a 5 min walk away from there.
Yes, Eden is a gd choice.
Sea view with local food stalls around & big shopping mall.
Duty free goods can be brought from here too.
The security is tight.
Most Ministers & VIPs stay in this hotel too.
Taxi from City Square to the hotel is less than RM7. (for tourists)

Eden is good choice but alittle further away but then again johor town is pretty sparely spread out. Guess it all depend on how near to town one wants to be. If I was not going alone and with my significant other...hehe think it would be Eden but then would I be going shopping around that far from the hotel room. heee... problem is it just occur to me...didn't they rename Eden to something else?
opps..just found it ..has been changes to Zon Regency by the Sea
