11-22 optics: 85%, mechanics : 86%
14-54 optics: 89%, mechanics : 86%
40-150 optics: 83%, mechanics : 71%
50-200 optics: 89%, mechanics : 81%
50/2 optics: 94%, mechanics : 85%
150/2 optics: 94%, mechanics : 86%

Canon EF-S 18-55mm - very good
Nikon DX 18-70mm - very good
Konika Minolta AF 17-35 mm - very good
Olympus 14-45 mm - super
Pentax DA 18-55 mm - good

It's not only about sharpness, they also take distortion and vignetting, etc... into account
They praise the optics, especially at the wide angle as very good and say that they are limited by the resolution of the E-1's sensor.

Hacker, u really hardcore man. :bsmilie: dig up so much info on the E sys.

there r 2 things i wud like to ask:
1) what do the numbers mean? average overall?
2) why still use the E1? the E500 can offer plenty of quality & cheaper.

so very good means below measurable points?

sorry, i dun understand german so catch no ball at all. :embrass:

1)
"super" = really good
"very good" = ok / good
"good" = poor
"---" = paperweight

11-22, 14-45, 14-54, 50, 150, 50-200 got a "super" which is the best rating.

40-150 got a "very good". (it has a rotating front lens and medium built quality and it is sharp, but not very sharp, so they didn't rate them as "super", which seems to make sense)

2) Measuring the lenses, not the body lar....

Thus confirming what we all already know... Zuiko lenses are :thumbsup:

:devil:

i posted this b4... here it is again 4 those who missed it...

:) It's interesting the 14-45mm kit lens did so well.

I sell you $100 you want or not?

"The lens showed a very good performance throughout the range and and all aperture settings. Seems as if Olympus managed to squeeze quite a bit of quality from the bottom end kit lens - amazing for a lens of this price class."
