G-Raid Backup Drives from G-Technology

Any one uses the G-raid drives? Are they available locally?
Actually I wanted the Drobo-mini but it comes with Thumberblot which my old Mac does not have. Kind of stupid to pay so much for the Drobo without getting the Thumberblot speed.
For the time being I will just make do on a raid system with Firewire connectivity
