FZ10 + Sigma 500 DG super flash

I bought a Sigma 500 DG Super flash unit for my Canon 10D. I also own a FZ10 and wonder this Sigma flash is compatible with the Pana camera. I understand that the 'trigger voltage' might render the camera useless if they are not compatible. I do not want to take the chance. Can some kind people out there share your experience/knowledge/recommendation?

Next, what is the trigger voltage all about? The flash send the signal to the camera or vice versa? Or both ways?

OK, I have tested it...it did not work. The flash would not fire at all.
